FSSAI
FSSAI means food safety and security authority of India. It is the agency under the control of government of India and ministry of health and family affair. The FSSAI has established under the act of food safety and security act of 2006.
FSSAI Registration
FSSAI Registration is mandatory for every individuals or entity who are eligible for an FSSAI Registration or License. Anyone who is a Food Manufacturer, No matter what type of food is that, should obtain an FSSAI Registration. Apart, manufacturer, these are the following who are eligible for FSSAI Certificate:
- Retailers who are actively involved in all types of Food Products.
- If anyone in India doing business in Food transporting and Distributing must obtain FSSAI Registration.
- Importing & Exporting Food Products
- Hotels, Caters or Raw Material Suppliers.
- Trading or Wholesalers or Food businesses that are being over the Internet.
- Food Storage Units
- Food Packaging Units
FSSAI Licensing
There are three types of Food License available that FSSAI provides based on the nature of Food Business:
1) Basic FSSAI Registration: This is also called the basic FSSAI License. This is required for all pretty food business operators. If the turnover of the food business limited to Rs. 12 Lac per year than it is required to obtain the basic FSSAI Registration.
2)FSSAI State License: Food Business with the turnover is between Rs 12 Lac to 20 Cr. Annually will be eligible for FSSAI State License.
3)FSSAI Central License: Food business with the turnover above Rs. 20 Cr and actively involved in Manufacturing/Trading/Storage beyond certain limits, will be eligible for FSSAI Central License.
